A nice colourful example of a biscuit tin from the 1930's. This one commemorated the Coronation of King George VI in May, 1937.
This dates from the Boer War. Each serviceman in South Africa was given one of these tins at Christmas 1900. It contaned some chocolate, cigarettes, matches and a small uplifting booklet, courtesy of Queen Victoria.
A similar idea to the tin above, but this time dating from the First World War, where these tins were given at Christmas to the men in the trenches at Christmas, 1914. Allegedly there were 355,000 originally distributed.
Finally up to date with Queen Elizabeth II, a nice tin from the late 1950's.
